Let me introduce myself: I am Elena Lipkowski, a new media artist. This means that I create my art on my computer, no easel required. I dance with the pixels instead of paints or pencils. I make digital collages that draw inspiration from travel snapshots, my own hand-marbled papers, and the archives of science libraries.

I insist on limiting myself to cellphone images. Why? Taking pictures with our phones is something we all do when we travel. And so it is my starting point. It keeps my art authentic and spontaneous. Each of my artworks evoke a sense of place and memory, while paying tribute to the effort of being in the present moment.
